If you’re anything like us, you have been cooking and baking your way through lockdown. Each week we will be sharing our recipes for you to recreate at home. All of the recipes will include Love Lane beer – you will be surprised how useful our cans can be in the kitchen.
So far we have shared a Beer Can Chicken and a Steak and Ale Pie recipe. You can find both of these recipes on our blog. This week we have baked Love Lane Beer Bread. This recipe has been done with olives and rosemary but you can make yours plain if you prefer.
In preparation you will need to chop up a handful of black olives and set aside. Next, pull the leaves off a sprig of rosemary. You can either chop them up finely or keep them whole.
You then need to sieve the flour into a mixing bowl before adding the sugar and baking soda. Add a pinch of salt and your chopped olives and rosemary.
Now onto the fun part. Add the can or bottle of Love Lane Pale Ale to the mixture. You might need a spare one to drink whilst doing this.
Mix all the ingredients together until it forms a nice dough. Next you will need to grease the loaf pan before adding the mixture. Finally, brush melted butter over the top of the bread to ensure a nice crispy top.
Put the loaf in the over for 40 minutes at 180 degrees. The top should be a lovely golden brown. And the smell – well you will have to wait and see for that one.
