Meet the Team // Trev

I’m an actor and voiceover artist and I’ve lived in Liverpool for over 20 years now. I’m originally form Northern Ireland so that explains my sexy but confusing accent. I’m a full time nerd/geek and have a love for puns, some of which you’ll hear on the tour.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECT OF THE LOVE LANE TOURS?

My favourite aspect is meeting and interacting with the guests. A lot of the tours I’m doing had been bought during lockdown and the guests are only now able to experience them.

There’s a lot of birthday and anniversary celebrations so it’s wonderful helping people have a nice time.

DO YOU FIND YOUR BACKGROUND IN ACTING HELPS TO SHAPE THE WAY YOU DELIVER YOUR TOURS?

My acting background helps to sprinkle a little storytelling into the mix, people don’t want to hear a dull story about hops and wort and stuff, well some do, but I try to make the tour as engaging and interesting as possible. No two tours are the same so it’s good to have an Improv background to draw upon as well for the unexpected questions.

FAVOURITE GIN OR BEER FACT?

My favourite gin fact is probably the one that is where the term ‘Dutch Courage’ comes from. Dutch soldiers would drink a juniper infused barley wine before going into battle, and when English soldiers fought alongside them they phrase was coined. I love opposite texts like that, like I said I’m a nerd.

WHY DID YOU COME TO WORK AT LOVE LANE?

Cash. Only joking, mostly. With lockdown there’s not a huge amount of opportunity for some actors so this is a way to keep my skills sharp while earning a bit of cash.
